Britney Spears doesn’t typically do interviews these days, but when she does, she really makes them count. After being honored with the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards last Thursday, Access Hollywood spoke to the pop star about her past with the man who introduced her during the ceremony, fellow 90s music legend, Ricky Martin.

Scott Evans showed Spears a photo of herself with Martin back in 1999, to which Spears promptly looked away repeating, “please stop!”

“Are you serious? Such a dork and a nerd!” she said looking at the photo, showing her teenage self wearing a blue vest and tiny, rose-tinted sunglasses. “Hello! The biggest nerd!”

When Evans asked her what she remembered about that day, Spears was quick to reply: “I have no idea.”

“I don’t remember,” she admitted. “Yeah, the secret to happiness—no memory—right there. Live in the moment, baby.”

To be fair, that moment, at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards rehearsals, was almost 20 years ago, and a lot has happened to Spears in those two decades. Exactly what she remembers from the past 19 years? Don’t even bother asking.

Holy crap she looks amazing in that gif. Whoever is handling her extensions now deserves all the thumbs up AND she looks so happy and relaxed.

I agree! She looked great on the red carpet and that interview was really cute as well.
