Spotify and Apple Music streams are more important than purchases

Everyone needs to stop paying so much attention to the silly obsolete iTunes purchase numbers, it's irrelevant. 2 things matter in 2016 when you're talking about a single: Spotify plays and Apple Music plays. Are these numbers available?

so true. you can buy the song once and listen to it 1000 times but its one sale, you stream the song 1000 times and its like buying 100

My Spotify is showing less than 1000 streams but I think it's on a delay.  If I keep it on loop all day will it count each time it plays as a stream?  Also, does it need to play in its entirety to count as a stream?

Streaming +30 secs is enough to count as 1 stream. 

Also, if you save the song (Spotify Premium), every play still counts to the official streaming count.

Definitely Agreed.
It's still very much important that everyone buys the single, but we need not to get caught up on that.
Spotify is what really counts & YouTube streams.

We have the advantage over Katy with the fact we have streaming across the board, and she only has iTunes & the video on YouTube.

i bought it on itunes but the vid is blocked for germany, so i cant stream it on yt.

I purchased my on iTunes however to listen to the song ... I go to the top tracks section to play it ... So it'll count as a stream!

 

I haven't used Spotify since Apple Music tried downloading to stream on there also but couldn't figure out how to work the damn thing LOL
