  6. Britney Spears’ camp is adamant the pop star is in charge of her own social media posts, and tells us she isn’t speaking with former makeup artist Billy Brasfield — who has joined a chorus claiming Spears’ latest Instagram post was not written by her. This week, Spears posted that she was “embarrassed” by the New York Times’ “Framing Britney Spears” documentary and “cried for two weeks.” But fans speculated that the post wasn’t entirely written by the “Toxic” singer. Her former makeup artist, Brasfield — who has also worked with Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera — claimed to Page Six on Wednesday that he personally spoke to Spears, and that she told him she had no control over the caption. But a representative for Spears told us that the star said of Brasfield’s claims, “I don’t speak to Billy, I don’t know who he is speaking with. It’s not me. I haven’t talked to him in years.” The rep told us that Spears reiterated: “I write my own posts, I don’t know why he is saying that.” Brasfield — who worked with Spears on “The X Factor” in 2012 through her 2013 video “Scream and Shout” — had told Page Six of the post, “I immediately knew it was not her,” alleging, “I texted her about it and she texted me back last night.” But Brasfield is not backing down and continues to allege he is talking to Spears. “I am not going to say that this person [her rep] is lying, it’s just that they don’t know,” he told us. “I am in touch with Britney Spears.” Fans have been speculating that Spears, 39, didn’t write the post in question, with one commenter tweeting, “There is not a single chance that Britney wrote this #FreeBritney.” But Cassie Petrey — who runs social media for Spears via the company Crowd Surf — in February commented on the rumors about Spears’ social media by insisting, “Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions for Instagram.” Petrey also said, “She finds the Google images, Pinterest images, quotes, memes and everything else herself. Nobody is suggesting any of that stuff to her.” Source: Page Six View the full article
  7. Britney Spears’ fans have speculated that a new Instagram post — in which she says she was “embarrassed,” by the NY Times’ “Framing Britney Spears” documentary and “cried for two weeks” — was not entirely written by the pop star. Now, her former makeup artist Billy Brasfield is adding to the chorus, claiming to Page Six he personally spoke to Britney and that she told him she had no control over the caption. In a post showing Britney dancing, the caption from her own Instagram states, “I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!” Brasfield, who has also worked with Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera, contends of Britney, “The content is her, but … the words are NOT how she feels.” Brasfield posted on his Instagram claiming that Britney told him that, “Of course watching certain things that are now so far in HER past … circumstances that she has already lived through, and has moved beyond, that are now being brought up over and over, can be #emotional. She ‘deals’ with it, and frankly very well … she is not ‘fragile’.” Brasfield — who worked with Britney on “The X Factor” in 2012 through her 2013 video “Scream and Shout” — tells Page Six of the post, “I immediately knew it was not her,” alleging, “I texted her about it and she texted me back last night.” “What was upsetting [about the post] — it was basically a narrative denouncing her fans and the Free Britney movement and people now taking a very conscious look at the facts and what is going on,” he tells us. “Although it might be complicated for her, of course she is invested. It’s her life. She does not like being a victim, she never wanted to be a victim and doesn’t see herself as a victim. She sees herself as a survivor and has navigated this with patience and strategy.” Brasfield believes that the post was meant to distract people from what is currently happening in court with Britney’s financial matters and conservatorship. On Tuesday, Page Six reported that Britney’s father Jamie, who functions as her conservator, filed legal papers seeking to have the “Toxic” singer’s estate pay more than $3 million in legal fees — including nearly $2 million to his own lawyers. “If approved by the judge, this money would come from Britney’s estate, meaning she essentially would be paying her own father’s lawyers to fight her in court,” a source told Page Six. Jamie has also requested to continue receiving $16,000 per month for his role as co-conservator of the estate — as well as $2,000 per month for an office space. Fans have been speculating Britney did not write the social post, with one tweeting “There is not a single chance that Britney wrote this #FreeBritney.” But Cassie Petrey, who runs Spears social media for the company Crowd Surf, in February commented on the rumors, insisting, “Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions for Instagram.” “She finds the Google images, Pinterest images, quotes, memes and everything else herself. Nobody is suggesting any of that stuff to her.” Continuing, “Britney is not ‘asking for help’ or leaving secret messages in her social media. She is literally just living her life and trying to have fun on Instagram. My work on Britney’s social media does not involve her conservatorship in any way. That’s a court and lawyer thing … These are facts.” A separate source close to Britney’s camp insists that the superstar wrote the social media post and alleged of Brasfield, “If he thinks he is speaking with Britney, he is not. He has no relationship with her. Maybe he is being catfished by someone pretending to be her.” Source: PageSix View the full article
  8. Sharon Stone is sharing the special link that she shares with Britney Spears. This past week, Spears posted several photos of famous women who have “truly inspired” her on Instagram. The 63-year-old Basic Instinct actress was the first one featured in the series and when asked about it on Wednesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she reveals that she has a connection to the 39-year-old pop star. “Britney wrote to me a very long and important, poignant letter during a very difficult time in her life — about the time when people would recognize it, when she shaved her head — wanting me to help her,” Stone shares, referencing Spears’ infamous haircut back in 2007. “I was in a very difficult time of my life and I couldn’t help myself. But the truth of the matter is we both needed help. She needed help and I needed help.” Stone, who opens up in her new memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, about some of her more troubling experiences in the industry, relates to Spears’ struggle with her conservatorship. https://absolutebritney.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Sharon-Stone-Recalls-Giving-Britney-Spears-Advice.mp4 “The true fact of it is, it’s very hard to be a very successful woman and not have anyone controlling you, taking your finances and handling you,” Stone notes. “There’s a huge breaking point and there’s a point where you get broken.” Describing Spears’ current situation as “so out of control and awful,” Stone adds, “I can say certainly it’s been very out of control and very awful more than once in my life and I have certainly had it. It’s very complicated to take control of your life. It’s very hard to get control of your finances.” Source View the full article

  10. Life “would drastically change for the better” for Britney Spears if her father was removed as her conservator, insiders say. Her attorney has filed a petition this week to have Jodi Montgomery officially replace the pop star’s father, Jamie Spears, as the permanent conservator over the singer’s personal matters. If the judge agrees to this in an April 27 hearing – getting her out of the control of her father – Britney, 39, could begin to have the freedom to perform again and even do that big tell all interview with Oprah Winfrey that fans are clamoring for, according to a source. The insider told Page Six, “If Jodi becomes her conservator things would drastically change for Britney — she’s not working because of her dad. She has said that as long as a dad is in control of her life, she’s not working. “Britney trusts Jodi Montgomery — she’s really great. Things would drastically change for the better.” As for the Harry and Meghan-style big interview, the source added, “If she decided she wanted to do it, yes, but it definitely wouldn’t do it in the current status quo. As long as her dad is part of it, she’s not working. She hasn’t talked to her dad in over a year.” Montgomery, who is Britney’s care manager, has been the “Toxic” singer’s conservator since 2019 when she temporarily replaced Jamie while he recuperated from health issues. A judge recently extended Montgomery’s temporary role until September 2021. However, Jamie remains the co-conservator over her estate alongside Bessemer Trust. He has been in control of her life — and her finances — since 2008, following her public breakdown. In November, Britney’s lawyers stated the star did not want Jamie, 68, to oversee her personal matters anymore since she was allegedly “afraid” of her dad. Her attorney also told the court, “She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.” Jamie’s attorney, Vivian Lee Thoreen, has vehemently denied these allegations. Jamie previously blasted supporters of the #FreeBritney movement who believe he doesn’t have his daughter’s best interest at heart, telling Page Six, “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.” He added, “I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.” Source: Page Six View the full article
