Hey all. I'm making this a masterpost for INFORMATION about Britney's unreleased materials. Download links will obviously not be available, some are unleaked. What IS leaked can be found in the appropriate masterpost thread. Will be updating with more info as time goes on!!

PRE-FAME

Spoiler
  • Britney was signed to Boyz II Men's label, Stonecreek Recordings, when she was 13. She did a performance in 1996, and the announcer said she was "currently producing an album". Vivian Green, and R&B singer, wrote some of these songs, as early as 1993. The label folded in 1996, and these recordings are still unreleased. Nothing from this album is known to exist in the hands of collectors.
  • "Today" - This is a cover of an unreleased Toni Braxton song. It was written by Darin Whittington, and recorded in New Orleans, Louisiana. Britney was 15 when this was recorded, which was early-mid 1997. This was the demo sent around to labels. It is a mid-tempo R&B song, and Britney uses her low vocals on it. This is not known to exist in the hands of collectors.
  • "I Have Nothing" - Britney also covered this Whitney Houston song in her demo tapes. This was recorded in early-mid 1997. This is not known to exist in the hands of collectors. You can listen to the original version here.

...BABY ONE MORE TIME

Spoiler

Album pre-release info:

Spoiler
  • ...Baby One More Time was originally meant to be called "Britney Spears", and would feature a different picture. You can view the original artwork here. The name changed in late 1998, very shortly before the album was released, because the Baby One More Time single has the cover of "Britney Spears" on the back.
  • The album was meant to be released in fall 1998. It was pushed forward to 1999, likely to increase interest in the album.
  • The album was originally meant to be more R&B or adult-contemporary.

Released song info/demos:

Spoiler

BABY ONE MORE TIME

Spoiler
  • BOMT was originally titled "Hit Me Baby One More Time". The title was changed to remove any hints of domestic abuse from the title.
  • The song was originally pitched to TLC. They declined it due to them feeling that the song "didn't fit their style".
  • There is an unknown demo from 1998 that was in the hands of collectors/traders in 2011. It is unknown whether this featured Britney, TLC, or a session singer.
  • There is a supposed demo that is online of BOMT. It is fake and made by slightly pitching Britney's vocals up, and removing a few instruments. You can listen to it here.
  • The music video was originally going to be directed by Joseph Khan, and feature an animated Britney fighting a monster. She has described as being similar to Power Rangers. Nothing for this was filmed/drawn, because Britney changed the direction during the storyboard phase. The budget was $800,000.
  • Nigel Dick originally wanted Britney to wear jeans and a t-shirt in the video, and Britney decided to dress like a Catholic schoolgirl. The clothes were found in a local store.
  • Simon Cowell wanted BOMT for one of his groups. He offered Max Martin a Mercedes for the song. Martin declined, and Simon said "Who the hell is going to have a hit with a name like Britney Spears?"
  • The stems to this song leaked in 2012 in FLAC, along with the dry vocal stems in MP3. Those can be found in the stem masterpost. Less mixed stems exist in the hands of traders in WAV, along with the dry vocal stems.
  • Two shots from the dailies were released on the GH:MP DVD. One is from the hallway shot, and can be viewed here. It only lasts until after the first chorus. The second shot is the outside dancing shots, and it lasts the whole song. It can be viewed here.
  • The schoolgirl outfit from the video is on display at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. You can view a picture of it here.

(YOU DRIVE ME) CRAZY

Spoiler
  • There is a demo instrumental of the album version. Nothing from this has leaked. It was in the hands of traders/collectors around 2012 but has disappeared since.
  • There is a demo shown of the Stop! Remix in the Making The Video special while Britney is recording the song. The instrumental is different. I'll clip the audio of it some other time tbh lol
  • This song was not originally meant to be a single. It was not featured in the "singles" lineup in a promotional poster from 1998. You can view the poster here.
  • Dailies from the video were released on the GH:MP DVD. It was a small scene of Britney doing her makeup in her waitress outfit during the first verse. There is also a very short blooper from the scene Britney is walking down the hallway. You can watch those here.
  • Adrian Grenier originally did not want to appear in the video, but was talked into it.
  • The TV track to the Stop! Remix leaked in 2015, however it has disappeared since.
  • The stems to the Stop! Remix were known to exist in the hands of traders around 2012, however the pack has disappeared since.
  • A remixed acapella version of the 1999 re-recording leaked in 2015. It was the acapella version of the Spacedust Remix. You can listen to it here, or download it here.
  • Partial stems to the album version existed in the hands of traders around 2012, however the pack has disappeared since.

SOMETIMES

Spoiler
  • There are 3 known demos of Sometimes.
  • The first demo is the one used in her Singapore showcase performance in 1998. The intro is longer, and only the basic composition has been done. A studio version of this demo is not known to exist in the hands of collectors. You can listen to the live performance here. Britney sings over the track, including her lead vocals.
  • The second demo of Sometimes is very similar to the final album version. It has an acoustic guitar in the intro, rather than the synthesizer. This version also doesn't fade out. This demo has been online for years, however, the version originally online was sourced from a cassette tape, so it was very poor quality. You can listen to that version here, or download it here. We now have the high-quality version of this demo now though. You can listen to it here, or download it from the demo masterpost. This is the version used during Britney's Mall Tour.
  • The third demo of Sometimes is also similar to the final album version. The only difference is that it doesn't fade out, whereas the album version does. We do not have this demo, and it is not known to exist in the hands of collectors. We have the instrumental to this version, however. You can listen to it here, or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3. A fanmade version of this demo can be downloaded here in WAV, or here in MP3.
  • The "Sometimes Answering Machine Message" from the FTBOMBH single uses an edit either the second or third demo version of Sometimes. You can listen to that here or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3.
  • Sometimes was likely originally slated to be the third single from the album, according to a promotional poster from 1998. You can view the poster here.
  • Paul Walker was originally meant to play Britney's love interest in the video.
  • The TV track to the second demo is known to exist in the hands of collectors. It was on the Mall Zone tour cd. You can find a picture of the CD here.

SODA POP

Spoiler
  • The song was originally longer. This version was released on the Sabrina The Teenage Witch soundtrack before the release of BOMT. It has a longer outro. You can listen to it here, or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3.

BORN TO MAKE YOU HAPPY

Spoiler
  • The lyrics were originally much more sexual, and Britney asked for them to be tamed down. It is unknown whether this version was recorded.
  • BTMYH was originally much more acoustic sounding, and followed a slightly different chord progression in the chorus. Her demo vocals were used on the Bonus Remix, although it is debated among fans whether this is the original demo or whether it was re-produced. This version was released on the Born To Make You Happy single in 1999. You can listen to the Bonus Remix here, or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3.
  • The original video concept was that Britney is asleep and thinking about her ex-lover, while secretly pregnant with his child. This was scrapped due to negative reception from test audiences. The scenes of Britney laying in bed may have been from filming of this version.
  • This song may not have been originally intended to be a single. A promo poster from 1998 for the early "Britney Spears" version of the album doesn't list this song or "(You Drive Me) Crazy" as singles. You can view this poster here.
  • The instrumental leaked on March 7, 2017. You can listen to that here, or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3.

FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY BROKEN HEART

Spoiler
  • FTBOMBH was likely originally slated to be the second single from the album, according to a promotional poster from 1998. You can view the poster here.

I WILL BE THERE

Spoiler
  • This song was one of the last few from the album to be made. It was not on an in-house CDr that was dated 11/17/1998. You can see the original tracklisting here.
  • There is a clip of Britney recording this song in the studio. It can be listened to here, or downloaded from the demo masterpost.
  • This song may have been considered for a single. It is on a few archives that only deal with singles.

DEEP IN MY HEART

Spoiler
  • The TV track to this song is known to exist in the hands of collectors. It was on the Mall Zone tour cd. You can find a picture of the CD here.

THINKIN' ABOUT YOU

Spoiler
  • This song may have been considered to be a single at one point. There is an official remix made of it, which typically is only done for singles. You can listen to the remix here, or download it here.
  • The TV track to this song is known to exist in the hands of collectors. It was on the Mall Zone tour cd. You can find a picture of the CD here.

THE BEAT GOES ON

Spoiler
  • A very late demo of this song leaked in 2017. The only main difference is the final chorus has a vocoder, whereas the album version doesn't. It comes from the Re-sequence CD dated 11/17/1998. You can listen to the demo here, or download it here in WAV, or here in MP3. You can view the Re-sequence CD here.

VARIOUS

Spoiler
  • Where Are You Now and You Got It All were confirmed to be for this album, although it's possible more songs from Oops were meant for BOMT. More info on those in the Oops section.

Unreleased song info:

Spoiler

LUV THE HURT AWAY

Spoiler
  • This is the only leaked BOMT outtake. It is a much more adult sounding song than what ended up on the final BOMT album. There are two known versions.
  • The leaked version features Full Force. Full Force leaked in 2005 on their website. Britney uses her natural voice much more. You can listen to it here, or download it from the demos masterpost.
  • There is an unleaked version that features Don Phillip. He has called it both "Love The Hurt Away" and "Heal The Hurt Away". It is unknown whether this was intended for BOMT or his solo album. His version is very different from the Full Force version. It is not known to exist in the hands of collectors.

OTHER UNNAMED OUTTAKES

Spoiler
  • There are two unleaked Don Phillip duets. One is "Love The Hurt Away" (see above). The other is unnamed and has not leaked. It was produced by Eric Foster White.
  • Sturken & Rogers produced something for BOMT. This is confirmed by a promotional poster. It can be viewed here. No songs produced by them ended up on the album.
  • There are possibly more Full Force songs than "Luv The Hurt Away". They were also listed on the promotional poster as producers. It may just be referring to Luv The Hurt Away, however.
  • None of these songs are known to exist in the hands of collectors.

Having all the info in one place like this would be amazing. Hope it doesn't get forgotten about. I am looking for all the info on the unreleased sessions. Like all the confirmed knowledge of when it was recorded, when it leaked, Which sessions it is from etc. I know there was a chart but I cant find it.

This is what I use: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_recorded_by_Britney_Spears#Unreleased_songs

Why are you not adding "I'm So Curious"? :donteven:

Because it's not unreleased. You Got It All was unreleased during the BOMT era.

No, she recorded YGIA/ISC as demo songs, a bit later she started BOMT album tracks tho.

I'm not saying "a BOMT song was recorded during the BOMT sessions" that would be unnecessary.
